Vintage Rock and Soul set @ The Blues Kitchen (Camden) with DJ Dan Goldsboro

October 6, 2017

Sister to venues in Shoreditch and Brixton, Blues Kitchen Camden is one of our absolute favourites. Located on bustling Camden High Street, this is as much a delicious BBQ restaurant as it is a thriving bar and live music venue.

With expertly cooked chicken, burgers, BBQ ribs and catfish jambalaya jostling for air-time on the menu, this is certainly one for the ravenous. You can come for lunch or late-night dining throughout the week, or stop in for some brunch at the weekends.

A choice of craft beers, classic cocktails and bespoke bourbons is on the cards drinks-wise, and you can reserve your own booth to have cocktails delivered til 3am. Once you’re done at the table it’s over to the dance floor, where Blues Kitchen bring a packed out venue some infectious Rhythm and Blues tunes deep into the evening. It’s no wonder the venue pulls in such an eclectic crowd.

The famous Blues Kitchen stage has been graced by names like Seasick Steve, Pete Doherty, The Pretty Things and Mystery Jets – swing by soon and catch the next big thing while enjoying a fun-loving Camden night out.

R.A.R.E. sounds @ Farr’s (Dalston) w/ The Dark Corners + DJ’s

June 10, 2017

Exotic, sleazy and groovy sounds, reviving people’s traits and music cuts that will never go out!

This time with live music from:

★★ The Dark Corners ★★
https://www.facebook.com/thedarkcornersband/

The Dark Corners are a sax-fueled rock & roll band playing nightmarish grooves, mean explosive riffs and interludes for daydreamers. By night they stalk victorian streets, navigate the city limits and creep through the urban concrete chaos.

The band’s roots lie in playing dive-bar renditions of broken 12-bar blues, haunting girl group numbers and surf instrumentals from the late-50s to mid-60s. Outside influences from the strange city slowly corrupted them. Their original sound flirts with film noir, noisy jazz, early psychedelia and the ominous dreamy textures of David Lynch and J.G. Ballard.

And a DJ set curated by:

★★ Dan Goldsboro aka Rhythm Addict ★★

50’s Stomping Jump Blues – Mid-centrury R’n’B – 60’s Soul Shakers Black Rock’n’Roll – Hammond Grooves – Twangy Surf – 60’s Garage Punk – Rockabilly Boppers – Teen Beat Anthems – Early Jump-Up Ska – Exotica – Sleaze – Tittyshakers – Popcorn and More!!!

VISUALS by

★★ DCT Visions ★★

projections of B-movies, old short films and vintage oddities, all selected accurately for your visual pleasure. Think of Kenneth Anger, Betty Boop and Godzilla in an very eye-catching string!!!

The Venue
Farr’s School of Dancing

Named after the former occupants of the building in the 1930s, Farr’s School of Dancing serves a wide selection of craft beer and ales in a stripped back setting with a vintage-feel.

Inside, the stripped-back walls, uneven floorboards and vintage furnishings have become home from home to loyal patrons; cask ale drinkers, Swing Dancers, Sunday Roast lovers and weekend partygoers.
